Beyond the Plate is my business geared towards teaching people how to navigate their kitchens and recognize foods beyond their plates. Whether you’re an intermediate home-cook or completely clueless, you deserve to be comfortable in your kitchen and the grocery aisles. Courses catered to ages 5 and up, even adults! You’re never too old to learn to love food. Expand your palate and knowledge with Chef Gabby, an Institute of Culinary Education graduate with experience in Health Supportive cuisine and meal preparation.


About me

My journey with the culinary arts began when I was 16 years old. I was about two years into a Lupus diagnosis and going on four years of living with Hashimoto’s. At the time of my Lupus diagnosis, I was on more medication than I could count. I was even taking medications to help with the side effects of my other medication. It was a lot for a teenager to handle. I began looking for holistic ways of coping with my conditions and “raw vegan” was a popular path for many Lupus patients. I began my plant-based journey in 2015 and it opened a world of knowledge and creativity for me. There were not nearly as many vegan or plant-based options available in 2015 so learning to make my own “cheeses” and meat-like proteins felt like science. Figuring out what ingredients create what textures and flavors, I felt like a chemist in the kitchen. Thus began my dream of going to culinary school. I was so fortunate to take part in the first Natural Gourmet Center – Health Supportive program at the Institute of Culinary Education in New York City. I started the program in 2019 and finished amongst the pandemic in the summer of 2020. Now, I’m here to teach YOU all the things I know about food.
